My Story
I was brought home as a puppy and have never known anything but the loving care of my family. From the very first day, I knew I had found my forever home. I am so lucky to have a Mommy that loves me so very much. I am the apple of her eye! She has always been there for me, giving me a life full of love, security, and adventure.
My Mommy likes to dress me up, too. Sometimes I enjoy it, but sometimes it gets a little annoying! Still, we have loads of fun together, and the extra attention I get from others is nice.
Giving back to my community is very important to me, and I do my very best to show others that I care. As a registered pet facilitated therapy animal, I get to visit with people who appreciate a little love and attention. Each time we visit, I leave with such a warm feeling inside.
Bringing awareness to the world about animals that need help is another way I like to help. Someday, I hope every dog and cat has a home so we will not need to have shelters anymore. Can you imagine?
What I Do...
I Participate
I Fundraise
I Donate
Enjoying a great dinner at the Bark Ball with Mommy and Daddy while raising money to help my fellow four-legged friends at the Humane Rescue Alliance.
The Humane Rescue Alliance hosts an annual event called Fashion for Paws. I have participated in this event for four years in a row as top fund-raiser. I am dressed up and looking fine with my Mama!
Shelters and other organizations that support animals in crisis situations need food, dog beds, blankets, and other supplies. Here I am supporting a food drive for the AASPCA Food Bank.
Service Work
While l enjoy a good rawhide treat, daily walks in the park with my mama, playing chase with my dad, and tearing up my toys, I spend a lot of time giving back to causes that are near and dear to my heart. Volunteering as a pet facilitated therapy animal is one way I can bring a little cheer to people who need it. The folks at area retirement homes love it when I pop in for a visit. My approach is different from most outgoing, overly friendly dogs. I'm more laid back, reserved, and respect people's boundaries. I just lay on my mama's lap and let people come to me. I must admit, I do enjoy the extra rubbing!
Mama and I love to donate our time and resources to various organizations like the Humane Rescue Alliance. We have raised almost $60,000 for this organization over the the past four years and have placed in their top fundraisers. I love winning awards! We also give back to Cheryl's Rescue Ranch for Abused and Neglected Livestock, several chapters of the SPCA, as well as smaller local charities.
